The perfect proteins
Whey proteins are among the best proteins available: they contain all the essential amino acids in the correct proportions for human needs and are particularly rich in leucine (necessary for optimal activation of muscle protein synthesis).
Which whey to choose
Which version to choose depends on personal needs and sensitivities.
Lactose and casein sensitivity
cattle isolates less than 1% of lactose and 0.5% of casein
Cow's milk or casein sensitivity
Goat milk concentrates: less than 0.5% casein A2 and 5% lactose
Ketogenic diet
Beef isolates: lower carbohydrate content

What do they taste like
Cow's milk concentrate: cooked milk flavor (like Galatina, but without sugar)
Whey isolate: neutral flavor
Concentrated goat: light goat flavor
How to hire them
HOW MUCH
depending on individual protein intake needs
1 scoop = 4 grams
HOW
Dilute in a liquid, hot or cold; water is also fine. To mix to perfection use a milk whisk. They can also be added to: smoothie, yogurt, oatmeal, broth, soup, omelette, cake mixes, cookies, bread, etc. They can be cooked, nothing happens.
ATTENTION: When adding to something hot, add one scoop at a time, stirring immediately after. If you add all 5 scoops at once, the first one will remain in contact with the hot surface for a few seconds, and small whey balls may form. Nothing happens if they coagulate; it's just a matter of palatability.

Alternatives to Whey
Whey proteins are one of the best protein sources available, but not everyone tolerates them. Those with lactose and casein issues can consider bovine isolate proteins. While those with casein or cow's milk issues can opt for goat concentrate proteins.
If a person really can't tolerate them, you can use the’albumen powder or opt for a plant-based protein.
Soy protein isolate has the amino acid profile most similar to whey. Unfortunately, however, soy is an allergen and contains phytoestrogens. Furthermore, it could be GMO and therefore grown with large quantities of glyphosate. If possible, purchase an organic product.
Alternatively, a cereal + legume mixture can be used, which however does not have the complete amino acid profile present in soy protein; pay particular attention to the leucine content.
BEEF PROTEIN
Unfortunately, the proteins sold on the market as “beef protein” are not a valid alternative to whey. To evaluate proteins, you need to look at their amino acid profile. Beef protein contains only 4 grams of leucine per 100 g of product, while whey isolate contains 9.9 g. Leucine is crucial for initiating muscle protein synthesis. The table compares beef protein with whey isolate because both contain at least 90 g of protein per 100 g of product.
The amino acid profile of beef proteins is almost identical to that of collagen, because they are extracted from beef bones containing meat residues. They are not extracted from beef, as some companies would have you believe. Bones (including human bones) are composed of 20–30% protein, of which 90–95% is collagen.
Beef protein isolates from any brand have this amino acid profile. You informed me that Elisir's have an amino acid profile similar to whey. I wrote to customer service and they replied, “They derive from hydrolyzed bovine collagen obtained mainly from connective tissue, bones, and cartilage.” So the amino acid profile reported on their site is incorrect. I've reported it, but it hasn't been corrected yet.
The people who consume these products think they are consuming a protein extracted from bovine meat, and therefore with a high biological value amino acid profile (DIASS), but unfortunately, this is not the case.

frequently asked questions
Whey isolates are filtered more, which increases protein content and usually decreases lactose content.
Organic beef concentrate: 76% protein, 7/8% lactose
Concentrated bovine lecithin: 80% protein, less than 1% lactose (it undergoes additional filtering to remove the lactose)
Goat milk concentrate: 80% protein, 5% lactose
Bovine isolate: 90% protein, less than 1% lactose
Isolates cost more, so they only make sense for people with lactose intolerance.
Yes, as they are whey proteins, they contain lactose.
Average lactose content:
Cattle Concentrate 7/8%
Beef Concentrate with Lecithin 1%
Goat Concentrate 5%
Bovine Isolate 1%

The date shown on NON-fresh products is not the expiration date, but the TMC.
TMC means Minimum Storage Term and is NOT an expiration date. The product is always perfectly edible after this date. When you read “best before...” on a product, it means it is not an expiration date but the TMC minimum shelf life.
PLEASE NOTE: Our products are very stable because they are in powdered form and contain mainly saturated fats, which are naturally very stable. We have tested many of them even more than one year past their TMC date, and they were still in perfect condition, including coconut milk, cocoa powder, erythritol, and arrowroot.
How to tell if a product is still good? Very simple!
Just take a look: are there any signs of mold, insects, or anything unusual?
Smell: smell?
If the answers to these two questions are no, the product is still good.
Think about this: the expiration date was invented 50 years ago. Humankind has existed for 2.5 million years. Your senses are perfectly capable of recognizing a product gone bad. Trust us!
10% of European food waste is caused by the misinterpretation of this date. Tell your friends about this important distinction between TMC and expiration date. Awareness will save the world.
No. As a matter of environmental sustainability all our bags do not contain a measuring cup. If they did contain it, customers who often buy our products would end up with a collection of measuring cups. This would make no sense, as the Earth is the only planet we have and we need to take care of it by living consciously. Instead, our boxes contain the measuring cup, as it is usually the first purchase a customer makes.
Live Better products can also be taken during pregnancy, except for Pure Biltong and Kaminwurz, as they are cured.
Pure Jerky is cooked, not raw meat, so there's no problem.
Better Mayo is made with pasteurized egg yolk. The yolk is pasteurized, undergoing a controlled heat treatment at 64°C for 8 minutes and then refrigerated at +2°C. Under proper storage conditions and shelf-life, the product is generally suitable for consumption during pregnancy. Unless otherwise indicated by a medical professional and in accordance with the storage instructions on the label.
The only caution is Chokkino because it contains caffeine
A cup of Chokkino espresso contains only 11 mg of caffeine (an espresso coffee contains 80 mg)
EFSA's recommended daily limit of caffeine for pregnant women is 200 mg
Caffeine is naturally present in cocoa, and therefore also in chocolate. However, chocolate contains less caffeine than cocoa powder.
Cocoa powder contains less cocoa butter and therefore the caffeine is "concentrated"
All Live Better products can be taken while breastfeeding.

BEST WHEY
Hi, it's the first time I'm using whey, but I bought your isolated whey protein powder and it's perfect. Excellent, very good, thank you Elena. I only buy your products, I've tried almost all of them.

Excellent both for their neutral taste, which I can flavor as I wish, and for their solubility. Since I use them every day, I was looking for a quality product without additives and sweeteners, and with an excellent amino acid profile.

Per la mia “tipologia di stomaco” prediligo le isolate perchè molto più digeribili. Entrambe buone, forse più neutre di gusto le isolate.
